I’ve had a request from a reader that I write a post about how to create preppy style when you’re on a budget. She doesn’t like to spend a lot of money on clothes, and told me that we often feature items that are a bit pricy. I can definitely see her logic, so today’s post is all about finding the classic prep look for less!
First stop on my search was Forever21. They are a great place for cute finds on the cheap.

The next place I looked was Target. Their website is a little hard to navigate, so I only included their rain boots on this post, but the next time you’re there I definitely recommend checking out the women’s section. There are always so really great preppy finds!

Lastly, I looked at Lands End Canvas. I only included them because their sale prices are truly INSANE. Right now, a lot of their fall/winter stuff is on sale, and they seriously have me wishing I didn’t give up shopping for lent. Wool cable kind sweaters for under $20?!?!?! Yes , PLEASE!

Some other stores with preppy style and great bargains include Old Navy, Marshalls and TJ Maxx, and of course outlet stores. Happy shopping!

/ February 29, 2012I found the CUTEST navy blue sweater with a red anchor on it at Forever 21 about a month ago! I haven’t had the best luck with Forever 21 in the past, but they’ve had some really good stuff lately.
