Enjoying Spring

After what seems like an endless winter, spring finally seems to be in the air. The surest sign for me? I don’t have to wear a jacket anymore! I am beyond happy to start breaking out the shorts and sandals. The flowers are starting to come up and yesterday (much to my delight) was the first day I was able to sit out on the quad with my homework. Getting some sun felt SO good.

Yesterday, my boyfriend reluctantly agreed to be featured in an outfit of the day post. He just looked so casually springy that I had to share. So, here’s what we were wearing:

On Matt: shirt, Lands’ End Canvas; shorts, American Eagle; boat shoes, Dockers.

On me: sunglasses, Maui Jim; shirt, J.Crew Factory; shorts, Old Navy; boat shoes, Sperry.

OOTD — 02/26/13

So khaki pants and sweaters are pretty much what I reach for when I get up to get ready these (wintery) mornings. I love how sweaters look layered on top of a button down or polo shirt. Not only do I love this outfit, but ‘Mrs. O’Leary’s BBQ’ by O.P.I. (pictured to the left), is probably my absolute nail color of all time. I just had to show it off in this O.O.T.D.!

OOTD — 01/15/13

As a requirement for some of the classes I will be taking next semester, I have to document quite a few observation hours. So, a few days ago, I visited my old high school and shadowed a few of my old high school science teachers. In the future, I plan to become a high school science teacher, myself. OOTD – 12/28/12

Hey guys!  I hope y’all had a fabulous holiday!  Lucky for me, I’ve still got a little bit more celebrating to do!  On Christmas Eve, my dad’s parents and one of his sisters comes to our house to exchange gifts.  Then on Christmas Day, my mom’s side of the family comes for brunch and to exchange gifts.  Tonight, all of my dad’s siblings and my two cousins will head to my dad’s parents house for dinner to finish the celebrating!  Needless to say, I’m going to need a vacation from my vacation!  Just kidding, but I am getting pretty tired!

One more Christmas Dinner means one more outfit to plan!  After Friday night, you’ll most likely find me in leggings and a fleece until I head back to school… #lazygirl

Anyways, here’s what I’m planning on wearing tomorrow to dinner…let’s just pray there’s no snow and the temperatures don’t drop too much!

Fashion Challenge: 4th of July edition!

I already posted this on my own blog, but I thought it might be a good post for The Prep Crew, too!

On Tuesday, I’m heading down to Cape Cod to spend the fourth of July and the following weekend with Matt and his family. It’s going to be a week filled with baseball, fireworks, and the beach…three of America’s favorite pastimes!

I was making a packing list of things and clothes to bring last night when I got a really interesting idea. Since it’s the Fourth of July and since I looooove wearing red, white, and blue together (it’s one of my favorite color combos), wouldn’t it be fun to pack nothing but clothes that are those colors and mix and match? So that’s the plan. I’ve got plenty of items that are either red or navy blue, and I’ve got tons of white staples to pair them with. Basically I’m trying my best to make Betsy Ross proud. It’s going to be fun.

OOTD: Sister edition!

It’s a chilly, sort-of gloomy day here at the beach, so my sister and I have resorted to wearing long sleeves instead of bathing suits. It’s a tough compromise, but as my boyfriend wisely pointed out to me this morning, a day on vacation–even a yucky one–is better than a day at work. Amen to that!

 

What I’m wearing:

    • Top: Old Navy. I fiiiinally got a chambray shirt after lusting after them for a year or two. Yeah, I’m late to the party, but I’m glad I finally got there!
    • Shorts: Lands’ End Canvas. LOVE THESE! They’re always look brighter than I think they really are, but they definitely punch up an outfit!
    • Accessories: green beaded necklace (I’ve had it since eighth grade!), Michael Kors watch, sailor’s rope bracelet from Kennebunkport, J.Crew madras headband, and tortoise shell sunglasses from Marshalls, signet and claddagh rings.

On my sister:

    • Bicycle t-shirt: J.Crew
    • Sweater: Lands’ End
    • Jeans: Hollister
    • Metallic boat shoes: Sperry Topsider
    • Accessories: Ann Taylor belt, Swarovski ring, necklace from Copper Mt., Colorado.

I hope that the weather’s better wherever you are!

Dinner OOTD.

I’m currently on a vacation with my family so excuse the late posting! Here is my dinner outfit for the day and since people always like a good bargain, check the details to learn more.

Easter Best!

Not surprisingly, it ended up being a very preppy Easter at my house.  We went to Sunday mass dressed to the nine’s in our Easter best.  For today’s post, I thought it would be nice to feature my mom and brother’s outfits in a edition to my own!  Clearly we all went for the same spring-y navy and kelly green color palette, and I love the pop of pink in Walter’s tie and my mom’s jewelry.

 On me:

  • Dress: Banana Republic

  • Wicker basket: vintage Etienne Aigner
  • Shoes: Ralph Lauren
  • Misc.: signet ring, vintage earrings that were my grandmother’s, pearl necklace, tortoise shell headband from J.Crew
