Like I said last week, Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday to decorate for. But, the decorations don’t stop with your home and your phone, you can also dress for the occasion! I’m a sucker for all things pink and/or red, so these are some of my favorite looks of the year. I put together looks for three separate occasions you might have going on!
Class time: Sweater, tank top, jeans, tote, shoes.
Date night: Earrings, blazer, tee shirt, skirt, bracelet, shoes.
Dinner with friends: Necklace, top, kakis, sneakers.

It’s that time of the semester again— I just spent the last two weeks preparing for and tackling all of my midterms for my fall classes. If you’re a college student, like me, you know that having a bunch of tests to get through can be both stressful and challenging. Here are some tips to help you get through the work!
Get organized! I like to write down my daily schedule and lists (to-do lists, shopping lists, homework lists, etc) in my day planner. Planning out what you need to get done for the day makes it easy to allot time in your busy schedule for studying and homework. I know that day planners are pretty much the perfect side kick to any prepster these days… but just in case you don’t happen to have one already, here are a few of my favorites–
Gallery Leather – $28 – I just purchased this planner in ‘Wasabi’ in preparation for 2013! It’s simple, lightweight and very cute–not to mention I love the gold trim on the pages!
Maybooks – ~$20 -Maybooks are fun, you get to design your own day planner or notebook! There are so many pretty cover patterns to choose from, not to mention you can add your name or monogram to it!
Lilly Pulitzer – $26 – I feel like everyone is sporting a Lilly Pulitzer agenda these days. The cover features one of her beautiful patterns, and the inside pages are just as lovely!
Once you have found a time to study, make sure you stick to your schedule and get the work done. Don’t procrastinate and you can save yourself from a lot of stress! Sometimes it’s helpful to form study groups with friends from your classes; you guys can help each other out on the material you’re not totally comfortable with. While you’re at it why not go all out and order a pizza and make it a study party!
Now when it comes to test taking outfits, being comfortable is key! But remember, just because it’s a midterm day doesn’t mean your outfit can’t be cute too! Need outfit ideas? Check these out—
1. Shirt - J.Crew $30
Jeans – Dobu $48
Flats – H&M $13
Scarf - Maverick $21
2. Sweater – H&M $28
Pants - DesireClothing $19
Flats - Madewell $109
Pearl Necklace - Carolee $35
3. Cardigan – Romwe $50
Leggings -DavidJones $16
Riding Boot – DSW $70
Headband -Lacoste $14

Lately, it seems like I know so many people who are going on first dates! Fall with it’s crisp air is cuddle season, and there’s all the fun weekend activities like apple picking and hayrides so I can definitely see why everyone is suddenly wanting to pair up. In the last week, I’ve had two separate friends come to me with fashion advice for a first date.
My theory on first date fashion: it’s important, and you want to make a great first impression, but you need to be comfortable!
If you’re not comfortable, it’s going to be hard to have a good time and you won’t be as confident as you might otherwise be. Let’s face it, getting to know someone new is awkward enough.
I’m also a believer that you should look cute for a first date but at the same time, just step up your normal look just a bit. Add a cute necklace or a sparkly pair of shoes. You want to express yourself and your own style.
I’ve put together some cute first date looks for a range of activities. Hopefully they’ll put your mind at ease and help make one of your first dates a bit less stressful!
Do you have any first date outfit ideas? Anything special that you like to wear? Leave it in the comments!

I already posted this on my own blog, but I thought it might be a good post for The Prep Crew, too!
On Tuesday, I’m heading down to Cape Cod to spend the fourth of July and the following weekend with Matt and his family. It’s going to be a week filled with baseball, fireworks, and the beach…three of America’s favorite pastimes!
I was making a packing list of things and clothes to bring last night when I got a really interesting idea. Since it’s the Fourth of July and since I looooove wearing red, white, and blue together (it’s one of my favorite color combos), wouldn’t it be fun to pack nothing but clothes that are those colors and mix and match? So that’s the plan. I’ve got plenty of items that are either red or navy blue, and I’ve got tons of white staples to pair them with. Basically I’m trying my best to make Betsy Ross proud. It’s going to be fun.
Here are some of the pieces I’ll be playing with–
It’s going to be a fun week!
Are you planning on going all out for “Independence Week”? It’s turning into a bit of a competition between me, my mom, and my sister! Leave your outfit ideas in the comments!

Here at my school, it’s the last week of classes. And that means one thing…every hard assignment from the semester is due this week. In the last two days, I’ve written two and a half research papers, and I still have one and a half more to go. You could say that people are going a little crazy. Thank goodness it’s Wednesday and the week is almost over!
I know that fashion is definitely the last thing on your mind when you’re cramming in all that work in preparation for finals, but I think it’s still important to look cute while sitting in the library, even though you may or may not be dying a little on the inside. Obviously, comfort is key when it comes to finals week fashion. I’ve put together a few looks that will keep you cozy, but also help you to look put together even when your mind is a little out of whack. Also, I’m a firm believer in the “dress well, test well” philosophy, so hopefully these will help!
I hope these outfits give you some inspiration to look cute while you’re working hard studying! I’m definitely going to try to recreate them best as I can!
Good luck on finals! Only a couple more weeks till summer!!

Not surprisingly, it ended up being a very preppy Easter at my house. We went to Sunday mass dressed to the nine’s in our Easter best. For today’s post, I thought it would be nice to feature my mom and brother’s outfits in a edition to my own! Clearly we all went for the same spring-y navy and kelly green color palette, and I love the pop of pink in Walter’s tie and my mom’s jewelry.
- Dress: Banana Republic
- Sweater: GAP
- Wicker basket: vintage Etienne Aigner
- Shoes: Ralph Lauren
- Misc.: signet ring, vintage earrings that were my grandmother’s, pearl necklace, tortoise shell headband from J.Crew
- Shirt: American Eagle Outfitters
- Kakis: American Eagle Outfitters
- Tie: my dad’s
- Shoes: Sperry
On my mom:
- Dress: Banana Republic
- Sweater: Ann Taylor
- Bag: Kate Spade
- Misc: Kate Spade earrings, Alex and Ani bracelet, Ann Taylor bracelet, vintage bracelet, vintage necklace.
