Spring Fashion

Springtime is officially here! While it still may not feel like it, warmer weather is definitely on the way! This past weekend, it was a beautiful 80 degrees in Charleston so I definitely need to start steering clear of the sweaters and breaking out my new spring favorites.

I would definitely call this a transition season outfit. Throw a sweater or cardigan over a nice bright dress to make any day, whether it be casual or busy, a stylish one. Riding boots can definitely last you into the spring on those colder days to dress up an more casual dress. Also, Jack Rogers or wedges do the job well too. I am also a huge fan of belted dresses. The coral color of this dress is absolutely perfect for spring and the gold jewelry perfectly accessorizes the outfit.

This outfit can be for work, class or even a girls night out or a date! The dark skinny jeans with the cute neutral wedges are a perfect transition into spring. I love the green color of the tank and am always looking for shirts in bright colors like this because they standout and make any outfit look that much better. The Tory Burch earrings are maybe a tad over the top, but any gold earrings would look fabulous with such an outfit. Kate Spade’s earrings are to die for, so check them out! The Tory Burch purse is so cute and the cross body is key to this outfit. I am definitely adding this to my next wishlist. Also, it matches the beautiful orange and gold bracelet perfectly.

This outfit is the perfect spring day outfit. This white top is adorable and I love the neckline and the gold embroidering. So many stores, from American Eagle to the Gap to Bloomingdales have variations of this simple shirt. Plus I love white blouses in the summertime, especially with bright shorts! I love coral, so the chino shorts (from J.Crew!) totally make me think of summer. Gold sandals are a staple in any summer wardrobe. A professional tote bag can be used with any outfit at any time of day-for class, going to lunch, out at night, or even for an interview! I also have a thing for themed charm bracelets, and this gold beach charm bracelet is definitely on my wish list.

Springtime is the best time for new clothes, a new wardrobe, and pairing together old pieces in new ways. Accessorize with bright colors, buy versatile tops that go with everything (shorts, jeans, white pants, skirts), focus on dresses because they make anyone look dressier, and find perfect summer shoes!

XOXO,

Caroline

End of Summer Rules.

As another Labor Day is right on the horizon, Summer is yet again drawing to a close. For many people this means a new school year, new classes, and new friends. However along with all of that comes the old famous rule: no white after Labor Day. This means that we must get all of our use out of our cute white summer sundresses, white jeans, and white shoes in the next three weeks before they go back into the closet for another year. Here are a couple of cute looks to get one more use out of your favorite white pieces of clothing or shoes. I’m also curious do you wear white after Labor Day or do you stick to the rule?End of Summer!

4th of July Wear.

I love the Fourth of July because it is the only holiday that you can really get away with decking yourself out in obnoxious colors. Here are two outfits to maximize your red, white, and blue: a casual one BBQ and maybe a fancy dinner party. Do you use the Fourth to deck yourself out?

Seersucker, White, and Madras, Oh My!

With Memorial Day comes an even more exciting time of year. It means that we can all wear white, seersucker, and Madras! What could be better than that? Here are a few ideas for a Memorial Day Barbecue or any other event to celebrate the official kick-off to Summer. Both have subtle red, white, and blue theme to celebrate the holiday without screaming patriotic or Fourth of July, which will be saved for a later post :) . So dust off your white Jack Rogers and get ready to celebrate, it is officially Summer! Happy Memorial Day Weekend from The Prep Crew!

Hey guys, it’s Katie covering for Karoline while she vacations on the Cape (jealous!) Anyways, since she is out on the beach and for most of us, Summer has officially started, I decided to post on Summer footwear. Now, I am not going to lie, while I am a big fan of sandals, I don’t wear flip flops unless I am on the beach. I love Jack Rogers and can be seen almost daily in my platinum pair, but flip flops are just not for me plus they hurt my feet! With that said, if I do need a waterproof shoe for the beach or pool, Old Navy four dollar flip flops can’t be beat, how’s that for affordable? Most of these shoes are not waterproof (though I must say my Jacks have been through some pretty aggressive rain storms and made it out okay), but they are perfect for lounging at the pool, hotel, or anywhere summery. Between the rainbows, Jacks, Tory Burch’s, Havianas, and Old Navy sandals, there is something for everyone! What is your Summer Staple footwear?
