The Best Snack Ever, Hands Down!

In my opinion, Puppy Chow is the best snack ever hands down, no strings attached. It is amazing and I cannot be let near it unless it is in rationed bags. It’s super easy to make and delicious. In addition to being perfect for parties, sporting events, lunchboxes, and after school snacks, it is also only six ingredients and is a one bowl dish. I have heard this called other names such as Muddy Buddies, Moose Munch, and White Trash. Whatever you call it, it’s yummy so definitely try it out. All you need is a microwave, a big bowl, and a ziploc bag. (This recipe can also be made gluten-free with just a few adjustments.)

  • 9 Cups Chex Cereal (you can use Rice, Wheat, or Chocolate)
  • 1 Cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Butter or Margarine
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar

Into a large microwaveable bowl, place the peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter. Microwave for about a minute and then stir. Put it back in until the consistency is smooth. Add vanilla. Pour cereal into bowl and stir until coated (this is kind of challenging and might take a few minutes because of the consistency but be patient!) Pour this mixture into a 2-gallon resealable bag. (THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT!!!! MAKE SURE THAT THE MIXTURE IS NOT HOT OR IT WILL MELT THROUGH THE BAG AND BE ALL OVER YOUR FLOOR, not that I would know). Add powdered sugar and shake until the mixture is well coated. Serve on a platter, in holiday themed bags, or straight into your mouth! Enjoy prepsters :)!
