Favorite Store: Francesca’s!

Hey Everyone!

So I live in Charleston, South Carolina and work at our Athletics Department, which is located on famous King Street, world renowned for its shopping! Not only does King Street feature national favorites such as J. Crew, Lilly Pulitzer, the Gap, Forever 21, and more, but it is also famous for its cute and unique boutiques! One of my favorites happens to be Francesca’s!

I have been trying to save money and avoid King St as much as possible, but on my walk back from work today I saw the cutest things in the window at Francesca’s and just couldn’t help myself from popping in! Before long, I was in the dressing room holding 12 items and ended up buying some things!

Francesca’s is not only cute and adorable, but also SUPER affordable for dresses, nice blouses, and awesome jewelry and bags! I buy a lot of pieces here that last forever and can go from class to a night out on the town to a formal event or interview! They also color code the store, which I think is awesome, and have amazing little accessories or gifts which work for birthdays or events in a pinch. They have boutiques located across the country, but their website is also fabulous and offers amazing deals!

Here are some of my favorites that I saw in the store today, so check them out in your local Francesca’s or online!

College Game Day!

As college football season winds down and comes to a close, I am excited to break out all my favorite game day clothes one last time! Tailgating at southern schools requires girls and guys to deck out in school colors from tips to toes. While many of the men favor PFGs, polos, button downs, bow ties, Sperry’s and colored khakis, girls take it to another level. Dresses of every style in the school colors are a must! Being a South Carolina Gamecocks fan, I have a closet full of black dresses to pair with garnet accessories and hair bows along with the standard brown cowboy or riding boots!

Here are some of my favorite looks for college game day!

This lace skirt is perfect with a black or white top and boots!

I love a simple satin top that goes perfectly with a simple black skirt that you can dress up with super cute accessories…like this bubble necklace:

These bubble necklaces come in a variety of colors and you can even get them in multiples colors on one necklace! They are available practically everywhere nowadays!

This red dress is simple, casual and something I would totally wear with boots and a necklace for game day! There are so many variations of this and can be found in just about any store!

Have a great end to your college football season! Go Gamecocks!

Love,

Caroline

Lilly Pulitzer’s Endless Summer Sale

lillypulitzer.com

If you’re looking for a way to spend some of the cash you’ve earned at a summer job this summer, I definitely have the place for you. If you’re a fan of Lilly Pulitzer on Facebook, you might have seen that she managed to break the internet with the most amazing of amazing sales. The Endless Summer Sale.

And it’s not just any 20% off seasonal sale…I’m talking dresses from $40-$70 and skirts in the $20’s. Hence, you can understand why so many Lilly-lovers flocked to and crashed her site yesterday morning.

The good news (besides the ridiculously affordable prices!!) is that shipping is…wait for it…free, and there is an absolutely huge selection with hundreds of items in Lilly’s signature colorful prints. Basically, there’s no excuse not to shop. The sale continues today, and runs till midnight EST on August 24. So get shopping!

I’ve put together some of my favorite picks from the sale below!

The Aleesa Dress, $64, in “Hotty Pink A Think Called Love” Fun fact–I got a dress in this print except in girls sizes..if you’re short like me, I definitely suggest checking out the Lilly “minnies”!

The Camie Dress, $58, in “You Gotta Regatta”

My picks don’t even scratch the surface of all the amazing finds at the Endless Summer Sale! I definitely reccommend taking a minute to check it out. Your closet (and wallet) will thank you!!

Easter Best!

Not surprisingly, it ended up being a very preppy Easter at my house.  We went to Sunday mass dressed to the nine’s in our Easter best.  For today’s post, I thought it would be nice to feature my mom and brother’s outfits in a edition to my own!  Clearly we all went for the same spring-y navy and kelly green color palette, and I love the pop of pink in Walter’s tie and my mom’s jewelry.

 On me:

  • Dress: Banana Republic
  • Sweater: GAP
  • Wicker basket: vintage Etienne Aigner
  • Shoes: Ralph Lauren
  • Misc.: signet ring, vintage earrings that were my grandmother’s, pearl necklace, tortoise shell headband from J.Crew
On Walter:

  • Shirt: American Eagle Outfitters
  • Kakis: American Eagle Outfitters
  • Tie: my dad’s
  • Shoes: Sperry

On my mom:

  • Dress: Banana Republic
  • Sweater: Ann Taylor
  • Bag: Kate Spade
  • Misc: Kate Spade earrings, Alex and Ani bracelet, Ann Taylor bracelet, vintage bracelet, vintage necklace.

What did you wear on Easter?

xoxo, Karoline
