Fourth of July OOTD!

Hey everyone,

One of my favorite holidays is coming up–the Fourth of July! I have always loved checking out fireworks and attending cook outs with friends and family to celebrate America’s birthday. This year I was very upset to find out that I’ll be spending the day time this Thursday, stuck inside, working… BUT! I won’t let that stop me from getting festive! Check out this red, white, and blue outfit I plan on wearing to work!

OOTD — 01/15/13

As a requirement for some of the classes I will be taking next semester, I have to document quite a few observation hours. So, a few days ago, I visited my old high school and shadowed a few of my old high school science teachers. In the future, I plan to become a high school science teacher, myself. Take a look at this ‘OOTD’…it features what I wore on that day of observation!

Outfit of the day! 2-23-12

You guys, it’s flip-flop weather outside!  And I don’t have to wear a jacket outside…is this really February in Massachusetts?!  I really can’t believe it!

  • Navy cardigan: Lands’ End Canvas.  These sweaters come in SO MANY great colors, and the price can’t be beat!
  • Polo: Lacoste.  The original preppy shirt.  I am obsessed with my Lacostes!
  • Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters. I’ve always been a fan of AE jeans, and am in love with this straight cut.  This cut is only available online and not in stores, though.
  • Flip-flops: Old Navy. A spring/summer staple! So cheap you can buy them in every color!
  • Misc.: Michael Kors watch, ribbon belt made by friend, pearl earrings, Essie nail polish in “Mob Square” on my fingers and “In Stitches” on my toes.

Outfit of the day 1/14/12 Game Day Edition!

All you southern girls have your adorable game day dresses and outfits, but up north we don’t really have those options cause it gets so cold!

There aren’t many cute options out there for girls when it comes to reppin’ your favorite team. Personally, I’ve always stuck to large kids t-shirts and jerseys.  However, there are plenty of ways to make team wear cute and preppy.  My quick fix?  Add boots and a cardigan!

As you can see, I’m gearing up for this weekend full of NFL playoffs and rooting for my beloved Pats.

Outfit details:

  • Cardigan: Ann Taylor
  • Patriots T: You can’t see it, but I’m wearing my Deion Branch shirt. He always has been and always will be my favorite player!
  • Jeggings: Love these…they look JUST like jeans and fit so easily under boots!
  • Boots: Michael Kors.  I got these at Marshall’s the other day and I’m obsessed! To say that I’m going to wear them with pretty much everything isn’t that much of an exaggeration.
  • Jewelry: faux-pearl earrings, Pandora bracelet, signet and claddagh rings.

And I know there are a lot of you Tebow fans out there rooting for Denver to win, but I think his good luck is going to run out today.  GO PATS!

Te-NOwing 🙂

Whether you’re rooting for my Patriots, the Saints, Green Bay, or the Texans I hope you all have stylish football-filled weekends!

xoxo Karoline

Outfit of the day: 12/22/2011

Merry Christmas everyone!  Here’s my outfit from today.  All I’ve done today is go to lunch with my sister & go to work, but I am obsessed with this new sweater I got from J.Crew yesterday!

1. Gray honeycomb sweater: J.Crew.  Run run RUN to your closest J.Crew – these are on sale & with the extra 30 percent off at J.Crew right now, they’re 50 percent off!

2. Pink oxford collar shirt: Ralph Lauren.  You can never have too many of these staple shirts.  I own tons of them and they last forever.

3. Jeans: J.Crew Factory.  I’m so short even J.Crew’s short jeans are too long on me, but I’m so picky about jeans, I can’t find any other reasonably priced pairs that I like.

4. Green top-siders: Sperry, circa 2004.  But, really, I got these for Christmas when I was 12.  Just goes to show some things never go out of style.

Holiday party season

The season of holiday parties is upon us, and with that, the need for festive outfits!  I went to my first Christmas party of the year last week and chose to go with a red & green themed outfit.

My friend & I at our holiday party!

Here’s my full outfit of the day from my holiday party the other night & some other outfits I think would be great for a Christmas party!

holiday party season

1. Green draped dress, red suede peep-toe pumps and gold jewelry.  I bought my dress & shoes from Belks during the Black Friday craziness!  I got a great deal on them and the colors went together fabulously.  I paired a gold link necklace & bracelet that belonged to my grandmother with this outfit, but any gold jewelry look great!

2. Red one-shouldered dress, black pumps and a sequined clutch.  If you don’t want to look super Christmas-y in red and green, but still want to look festive, this is a great option.  The red dress makes a statement and the black accessories tie it together.  I love sequins and anything glittery is always great for a party!

3. Strapless little black dress, green necklace, green bracelet and red clutch.  Every girl need a good LBD and Christmas parties are the perfect time to pull those dresses out!  What’s great about this outfit is that because the dress is understated, you can pair it with fun, bright accessories.

Outfit of the day: 12/11/11!

I went to one of my University’s hockey games this afternoon.  Unfortunately they lost, but it was still a great game to watch! It was cooooold in the arena though, so I’m showing you my outfit of the day with and without a coat. 🙂

With a coat...

...and without!

1. Toggle coat: Gap. It’s actually my mom’s, but she let me borrow it for the rest of the semester. I love this coat because it’s the perfect length and style that can be dressed up or down. Plus, I’m obsessed with the camel color. So classic.

2. Plaid scarf: Gap. I’ve had this scarf since high school. I love it because it’s wool (WARM!) and the colors are so fun! There’s pinks, oranges, corals, reds, purples…it’s a great blend of warm colors.

3. Canada mittens: Vancouver 2010 Olympics. My Aunt Steph sent these to me as a surprise gift during the 2010 winter olympics. It was the best random present ever! We had traveled to Vancouver the previous summer, and I guess when my cousin Remi saw the mittens on TV during the opening ceremonies, she asked her mom for the mittens. They’re unbelievably warm, so I wear them everyyywhere.

4. Navy cable knit sweater: Abercrombie and Fitch. Ok…normally I am completely against Abercrombie, but I saw this sweater at the end of the summer and had to have it. It’s made from warm stuff like wool and alpaca, so it’s super soft and toasty.

5. Gray turtleneck: Lands’ End Canvas. Ok…if you don’t currently shop at Canvas, I recommend you start doing so immediately. It’s like a one-stop shop for all of your preppy staples and necessities!

6. Jeans: American Eagle. Confession: these are actually jeggings. But they look and feel JUST like real jeans! They’re beyond comfortable, and are so great to wear with boots. They’re basically perfect.

7. Brown leather boots. I actually don’t remember the brand of these boots…I can’t find it anywhere on them. I got them for Christmas my freshman year. I wear them all the time cause they can instantly pull any look together!

I’m loving that it’s finally layer season! What about you?

xoxo, Karoline

Outfit of the Day! Nov. 23, 2011

I'm so excited to head home for Thanksgiving!

In an hour or two, I’m going to be on the road back home for Thanksgiving!  I’m quite jealous of all the schools that have been on break since Friday, but I’m excited all the same.

I’ll be in the car for a little over an hour, so I wanted to be comfortable but still look put together.

1. Drapey sweater, GAP.  I got this sweater at the GAP two weeks ago and I’m OBSESSED with it! It’s warm, stylish, and goes with everything! You can check it out here. I want to get it in the white color, too!

2. Paneled tank, American Eagle. I picked this up on a whim at the end of the summer, and I’m really glad I did. The panels are super-sheer, so I have to wear a cami underneath, but I don’t mind. It’s a fun, unexpected piece.

3. Dark jeans, American Eagle. I swear by American Eagle jeans. Since I was in middle school, they’ve been the only ones I’ll wear. These are the darkest pair I have and I love them because they’re a great way to dress up simple outfits.

4. Tall boots. I got these for Christmas two years ago, and they’re great. They’re that perfect shade of brown where they can go with brown or black. Also, they’re a funky hybrid of a riding boot and a cowboy boot. I love the way my heels click when I walk around in them!

Misc: Michael Kors tortoise watch, jade necklace, silver “bean” necklace, monogrammed bracelet, Pandora bracelet, pink plastic bow ring.

Outfit of the Day, 11/20/11

I loved Laurie Beth’s outfit yesterday, and thought I’d post my own! It’s unseasonably warm today in MA (63˚ at my school!), so I’m in a skirt for probably the last time this year.  Loving that I get one last day of warmish weather before the holidays!

1. Land’s End Canvas boat-neck striped shirt.  My mom gave me this shirt for Christmas last year, and I love it!  It’s a lot thicker and stiffer than normal shirts, and I think that’s why I like t so much.  It’s definitely quality that’s going to last me a long time.

2. GAP red corduroy mini. This skirt is oooold! I think I got it when I was a freshman in high school…I’m now a junior in college.  I’ve got lots of clothes like that, though.  I’ve still got some of the things I was wearing in 8th grade! I really like this skirt because I’m a huge fan of corduroy…corduroy shirts, skirts, pants, jackets…you name it, I’ve got it.

3. Minnetonka Kilty Moc in brown suede. I have been on the hunt for the perfect moccasin since I was in high school.  I got these early this fall, and I’m obsessed! They’re beyond comfortable, go with everything, and are super cute. They’re a great fall/winter replacement to my ever-present Sperry’s.

Misc: Michael Kors tortoise shell watch, pearl earrings and iPhone. Bracelets: Pandora, red evil eyes, and monogram bracelet. Rings: claddagh ring and signet ring.
